The Women’s Development Center is in Motion but we Need Your Help!
The Maji Women’s Development Center will spread and support women’s self help groups by gathering women for training in mutual support and productive projects. The local church will partner to run it. Commercial space on the ground floor will cover upkeep and running costs.

MDC has completed legal requirements to build a Women’s Development Center on gifted land.This will be a capstone project, tying together all that MDC has done to empower community development and women in Maji.

An Ethiopian architect has drawn plans
The first truckload of building materials has arrived in Maji
This project will be accomplished in partnership with Maji Presbytery and Solar Energy Foundation
The ground floor will house a bank, providing funds and a needed service to Maji District inhabitants
The building plans have passed all the permitting requirements. The contractor and his crew of skilled workers have arrived in Maji. The other buildings that had been built over the lines into our new property have been pulled down, and now the foundation of the Maji women’s center is being laid out.
