What a remarkable journey the past few months have been!
Between May 1 and July 15, the Maji Development Coalition launched its most ambitious campaign yet—to fund the final phase of our Women’s Development Center in Maji.
Thanks to the outpouring of generosity from churches, individuals, and friends of MDC, we’re thrilled to report that we’ve raised over $188,000 in gifts and pledges—with even more expected as a few church campaigns wrap up.
Women’s Development Center Campaign Recap to Date

Your generosity has not only moved us closer to our funding goals, but it’s also made it possible to move forward on the ground—even in the middle of Maji’s rainy season!
Local church volunteers—young adults from Maji and surrounding communities—have stepped up in powerful ways. They’ve been hauling sand, cement, and water by hand, mixing it all in a small, rented cement mixer powered by a generator, and pouring slabs for the building’s foundation. These massive pours are no small feat—they’ve required 25+ volunteers working side by side with our crew across entire weekends. A bigger pour is coming soon, and preparations are already underway.

This is what sustainable, community-powered change looks like. And it’s only possible through your support.
Many times, Ato Markos and I have joked about who has the harder job—me, fundraising from afar, or him, supervising construction in the highlands of Ethiopia. The truth? We each depend on the other. Just like we depend on you.
Every dollar you give, every campaign you share, every prayer you send—you’re part of this story. And from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you. —Caroline & the MDC Team
